The Fitzpatrick company subsidiary in Sint-Niklaas sells machines for particle size reduction and granulation. Their customers from pharmaceutical, chemicals, plastics, food, agrochemical and other industries, utilize a wide range of Fitzpatrick machines.
They have the technical expertise and the experience to assist customers in determining process criteria and are able to recommend equipment solutions that meet the operational requirements.
Fitzpatrick also has a network of representative agents all over Europe, Russia, The Middle East and Africa, consisting of trained and experienced trade professionals, who provide local and rapid response to customers, whether the need is for advice, a quotation or spare parts.
General description:
The Sales Support Department prepares the high quality offers and realizes the projects sold, as from concept phase till commissioning and testing. The machines arrive already mechanically constructed from the US, software and electricity are executed in Belgium.
As "Sales Support Engineer" you are one - out of two - key persons of the commercial inside sales. As well as the presales, the project coordination with regards to engineering and the execution of the projects, is your responsibility from A-Z, including the financial part of it.
Content of the job and accountabilities:
Using the V-model (customer specs, URS, conceptual specs, installation and Operational quality,...), you take fully charge of the project.
You are responsible for the proposal and, after signing of the contract, for the realization of the complete project – up to installation at the customers site, including the financial aspects and the timing.
You are involved from the project from pre-engineering stage, accountable for the design (which you don’t have to do yourself, since the detail engineering is done in the US - but you will approve it), budget & cost control, pre- and end calculation, testing, integration of the machine in the production line, final commissioning,…

Requirements:
Experience with process equipment (e.g. with a machine constructor) is a plus.
A good technical insight is necessary, but the machines are not ‘rocket science’.
Specific Knowledge:
Material handling and/or mechanical construction is a huge plus, but the specific technical and necessary engineering knowledge is in the house.
Experience with project coordination: contact with suppliers, deadlines, budget, planning, etc. is a must.
AutoCad (or a different CAD system) is a plus, but capability of reading and understanding P&IDs is necessary.
Grade:
Master of Science in Applied Engineering (Ing.) or equivalent by experience.
Experience:
Min. 2-3 years as a project engineer in a mechanical product/equipment environment is a must.
Languages:
(Almost) perfect English is a must.
Dutch is an “almost must”.
Every other language is a plus.
Trips abroad: It is possible to guide the acceptance tests in other countries, but this is not a must.
